We celebrated Mia's 3rd birthday a few days early in Chicago with our families. She had so much fun opening her gifts and playing with everything!

We had some family photos taken on Sunday. The photographer's name is Nicole and she did a great job! We found Nicole through an organization called Celebrating Adoption which is "a photographers' organization dedicated to providing beautiful portraits celebrating a family's new adoption".

We just got back from a great week at the Outer Banks of NC with Mark's family! We stayed in the same house we have gone to for the past 2 years. The girls had a great time with their cousins, aunt, uncle and grandparents! They loved the pool and playing in the sand but werent so sure about the ocean. We all had a great time!

Mia decided that using the noodles still qualified as swimming by herself. She had so much fun racing Daddy to either end of the pool.

BUG CAMP!

 
Mia has been going to "bug camp" this week at a local Montessori School. It is just a week long (2.5 hours a day) and the theme is bugs! This was her first time at any type of school. Drop-off isnt always tear-free but she does fine once I leave. She and her friends Sophie and Connor are there together. She really seems to like it and brings home all kinds of projects.

Hot Air Balloons

 
We took the girls to see the hot air balloon festival at Battle Creek. The girls loved the balloons - except when our friend Jeff turned on his bunner. It is really hot and really loud! The "kitty cat" balloon was their favorite - sorry Jeff!

We went to the lake again this weekend. The girls love going on boat rides. They also love playing at the beach and "swimming".

 
Lanie decided one bathing suit was not quite enough so she added her bikini top - too bad she put it on the bottom!!
